Director of Human Resources

T he Schenck School, an independent day school for students with dyslexia located in Atlanta, Georgia, has an opening for a Director of Human Resources. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of related generalist experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional experience in personnel management required, Independent School experience a plus. Thorough knowledge of the principles, theories, and practices of personnel management. Thorough knowledge of relevant state and federal laws and court decisions. Thorough knowledge of employee benefits, selection processes, classification and compensation, job analysis, research methods, and statistical analysis. Able to analyze difficult and complex issues and to make recommendations for proper actions. Ability to conduct research and to prepare analyzes. Must be able to communicate complex ideas effectively, both written and oral information clearly. Able to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in both written and oral form. Able to establish appropriate priorities. Must demonstrate competency with basic word processing, spreadsheet, database, and Internet functions. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Will be required to file in both low and high drawers. PHR certification preferred. Send resumes via email to: humanresources@schenck.org.

 

Occupational Therapist

The Schenck School, an independent day school for students with dyslexia located in Atlanta, Georgia, has an opening for an Occupational Therapist for the 2013-2014 school year. This is a part time salaried position requiring 20 hours per week on a ten month basis. The position reports to the Associate Head of School. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, modifying, and coordinating occupational based intervention plans, conducting student assessments, and completing written evaluations. Desired qualities include excellent communication skills both orally and in writing, excellent computer skills, and the ability to apply clinical reasoning and professional judgment ensuring safety of students. The ideal candidate must have a current OT license and certified by National Board of Occupational Therapy, INC (NBCOT), as well as have 1+ years experience in the field of pediatrics.
