Record attendance at the 5th annual Social & Share Event

“Study Skills and Suggestions” is a Hot Topic for Alumni

Two consecutive years of data from the Alumni Survey tells us one of the most important and meaningful ways we can support our alumni is to provide on-going student and parent education regarding dyslexia, executive function, and study skills.

In response to that valuable feedback, The Schenck School Alumni Association selected “Study Skills and Suggestions” as the topic for the fifth annual Alumni Social & Share event held on campus January 21, 2016.

Nearly 80 alumni students and their parents eagerly listened as Schenck School Faculty Member and Alumni Parent Janet Street shared study and work-habit suggestions on topics including:

  • How to study
  • How to take notes
  • How to prepare for exams
  • How to self-advocate
Joining Ms. Street in the presentation were three alumni currently in high school who shared their first-hand, real-life examples of study and note-taking strategies that have helped them achieve academic success. The Schenck School would like to thank alumni Max Brauer, Megan Rodenberry and Leah Marcus for donating their time and sharing their experiences, insight, and best advice to help others!
