Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapy program at The Schenck School is a full program for students who qualify to receive occupational therapy.

These students may receive one-on-one sessions, group time or classroom modification. The occupational therapist collaborates with teachers and families to provide the most beneficial, individualized treatment for each student. The goal is to facilitate successful participation in academics, co-curricular, and home activities which are a student's primary occupations.

The program is unique in the fact that our Occupational Therapist has a dedicated space complete with a climbing wall well, fine motor manipulatives and zip line. This program provides services to students enrolled in kindergarten through sixth grade. Moreover, it aids in the proper implementation of both gross and fine motor skills through exercises that focus on balance and body movement.

Kindergarten student attend once a week and other students in grades first through fifth attend on a need basis.
