Summer Programs

Thank you for your interest in the Summer Adventures programs at The Schenck School.

We believe that the Orton-Gillingham Approach to the teaching of reading and written expression will open up a new opportunity for your child to learn, and we are confident that each child will enjoy the weeks spent with us, too!

Since 1959, The Schenck School’s mission has been to enable students to overcome individual learning difficulties in order to achieve their potential. The Schenck School is recognized nationally as a leader in academic programs for dyslexic students, providing them with a one-to-five teacher/student ratio. A teaching staff of fifty-six teachers specially trained in the highly regarded Orton-Gillingham Approach teaches children in grades kindergarten through six.

In our summer programs, we provide both enrichment and remediation for students currently enrolled with us as well as for students from many other schools. In the summer, we replicate the small group instruction provided by highly trained teachers which distinguishes our academic year.

We are pleased that you are interested in our summer camp offerings. We look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions.

Summer Adventure

Overview

The Schenck School conducts four academic camps for children entering first through fifth grades. Educators agree that summer time is the very best time for maintaining the academic gains that have been achieved in the previous school year while at the same time preparing a child for the academic challenges for the year to come. We at The Schenck School are looking forward to offering your child a most significant and enjoyable experience

"His reading skills are coming together and he is very proud of himself!"
