Empowering Confident Learners

David Schenck"To parents I say; although it’s hard work, don’t worry.  Your children are going to be successful.  They have the imagination and the determination to succeed."

Founded in 1959, The Schenck School was born from the vision of an educator who believed that dyslexic students should not struggle in the classroom, but rather they should thrive.

At The Schenck School, we serve dyslexic students in grades K-6, employing specialized and proven teaching methods such as the Schenck School Reading Model which is anchored in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. Students attend our School for a focused period of 2-3 years before transitioning to mainstream educational environments.

Our students become courageous advocates for their education, empowered with the skills and confidence to excel in both school and life. A Schenck School education fosters strong character development, community involvement, and a joyful learning environment, ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared to face the world as proficient readers and compassionate individuals.
